This is our newsfeed:
http://feeds.therams.co.uk/therams
Don’t know how to use it? Read on to find out.
If you want to get technical, the Rams newfeed is what is known as RSS (Really Simple Syndication), you can find out more about RSS here if you’re so inclined. But don’t let all the mumbo jumbo terms hold us back! In layman’s terms, RSS lets you see the news from the site in different places or programs, so you don’t need to visit the site everyday to know what’s happening.
Google Homepage is a way to have your own personalised Google start page when you open up your browser. Here you can add things like games, the weather and, of course, newsfeeds.
Google Reader is a way to view multiple newsfeeds online without needing to browse many websites for your daily news fix.
So let’s add the latest Rams news to Google.
Then select whether you want to add it to Google Homepage or Google Reader. You could try both if you like and see which works better for you.
If you have an account, sign in and The Rams news will automatically be added for you.
If you don’t have a Google account, you’ll need to create one. On Google Homepage click “Sign In” and then select to create a new account beneath the login box. On Google Reader just select to “Create a new account”. You only need one Google account, so if you create one for the homepage you can use it again for the Reader.
Now you should see beautiful Rams-shaped goodness. Splendid.

You can also add newsfeeds to your email program, so you can check what’s happening while replying to that email from mum.
If you’re using Office 2007 it’s as easy as opening the feed in Internet Explorer 7. Click the feed link now, and select “Subscribe to this feed”. It’ll be added to the common feed list and you’ll be able to see it in Outlook.
If you’re using an older version of Outlook or Outlook Express you’ll need to install an additional program. We recommend NewsGator Inbox. It’s easy to install and, best of all, free.
Once installed restart your email program and you should see a new category called ‘NewGator Inbox’. Right-click on it and select “Add new subscription”, then paste in the Rams feed address ( http://feeds.therams.co.uk/therams ).
If you think you might like to start downloading a lot of RSS feeds and reading them all in the same place, it’s worth thinking about getting a dedicated news reader.
We recommend the software from NewGator.
For PC that is FeedDemon. For Mac, NetNewsWire. There are even versions for iPhone and mobile PCs and online readers, and it’s all free. You can check out their full range of RSS products here.
