Report

DERBY County are through to the Carling Cup quarter-finals after beating Leeds United 2-1 in the fourth round at Pride Park Stadium tonight.

Argentine striker Emanuel Villa opened the scoring for the Rams in the sixth minute and Nathan Ellington doubled the home side’s lead in the 18th.
But Luciano Becchio pulled a goal back for Leeds in the 40th minute and the League One side pressed for a leveller after the break.
However, the Rams held on to reach the last eight of the competition for only the fifth time in their history, their most recent quarter-final appearance being in the 1989-90 season.
The Rams will discover their next opponents in the competition when the quarter-final draw is made on Saturday.
